Description
Not every gig calls for a full-scale hoss, and the G2220 Junior Jet Bass II knows it. Built on that unmistakable Gretsch Jet body shape but scaled down to a 30.3″ scale, this bass closes the gap between comfort and low-end authority — smaller hands, smaller cases, same subsonic push through the PA.
The basswood body keeps things light for long sets, while the bolt-on maple neck and 12″-radius black walnut fingerboard give you a fast, familiar feel across all 20 medium jumbo frets. White pearloid dots mark your spot without fuss.
Tonally, this is where the Junior Jet earns its keep. A pair of Gretsch mini dual-coil humbucking pickups delivers a thick, punchy growl that’s more aggressive than a typical short-scale, dialed in via a three-position toggle plus master volume and tone. Bridge alone for bite, neck alone for warmth, both together for the full thump.
Rounding it out: a four-saddle adjustable bridge for real intonation control, synthetic bone nut, die-cast tuners, and a black plexi pickguard with the classic white Gretsch logo — finished in Shell Pink for a bass that looks as distinct as it sounds.
