Description
The MXR M288 Bass Octave Deluxe hands you two distinct flavors of octave-down tone instead of forcing a one-size-fits-all blend. Growl dials in a throaty, midrange-forward octave that cuts through a busy mix, while Girth delivers a deep, smooth sub-octave layer for when you need to shake the room. Run them together or solo, and use the Dry knob to blend in your untouched bass signal so your attack and note definition never get buried under the effect.
Need extra push in the mids? The Mid+ switch adds up to +14dB of internally adjustable boost, selectable between 400Hz for low-mid punch or 850Hz for a more vocal midrange pop — handy for cutting through a dense band mix or fattening up a thin-sounding rig.
Under the hood, MXR’s 18-volt Constant Headroom Technology (CHT) runs off a single 9-volt battery but delivers studio-level headroom and tight, accurate tracking, even on lower notes where lesser octave pedals tend to fall apart. It’s true bypass, so when the pedal’s off, your tone stays exactly as it should be.
Housed in MXR’s rugged, lightweight aluminum casting with road-tested jacks and switches, the Bass Octave Deluxe is built for the realities of gigging — getting thrown in a bag, stomped on in the dark, and expected to work every single time.
