Description
The MXR Bass Fuzz Deluxe takes a vintage fuzz circuit and rebuilds it from the ground up for bass duty, keeping the low end intact while the fuzz gets thick and aggressive up top. This is part of Dunlop’s MXR Bass Innovations series, so the voicing is dialed in specifically for bass frequencies rather than borrowed from a guitar pedal and hoped for the best.
What sets this one apart from a lot of fuzz boxes is the blend section. Instead of forcing an all-or-nothing fuzz sound, you get separate Wet and Dry level knobs that let you run your clean low-end signal underneath the fuzz. That means you can dial in anything from a subtle grit riding on top of your natural tone to a fully saturated, wall-of-fuzz signal — and everything in between. It’s the kind of control that keeps your bass from disappearing into mush once the fuzz kicks in, which is a common problem with low-end fuzz tones.
- Fuzz and Tone controls shape the core drive and voicing
- Independent Wet and Dry level knobs for custom blending
- Based on a vintage fuzz circuit, modified for bass frequency range
- Built for cutting, bold fuzz tones suited to modern playing styles
Whether you’re layering a growl under a clean tone or going full-send fuzz for a solo section, the Bass Fuzz Deluxe gives you the flexibility to keep your low end present while the fuzz does its thing on top.
