Building a set of live loops on bass means two things matter above all else: the low end has to stay full, and the timing has to be rock solid. The Pigtronix Infinite 2 handles both. It runs two independent stereo loops through a full-range, high-headroom input stage built for mono or stereo instruments and line-level signals alike, so your fundamental stays fat whether you’re layering a root-note vamp or a melodic overdub on top.
What sets this looper apart for bass players is how it thinks in musical phrases instead of raw button presses. Nearly every command—switching loops, cueing an overdub, stopping playback—waits for the loop boundary before it executes, so you can stomp a footswitch a beat early and still land exactly on the one. Instant Stop and Fade Out are the exceptions, firing the moment you hit them for those cases when you need to cut the low end dead. That Verse/Chorus workflow means you can hold down a groove, jump to a second loop for the chorus, and delete whichever loop isn’t currently playing to free up a slot for something new—all without breaking the pulse.
A push-button above the left footswitch unlocks Stop, Stutter, and Octave Shift tricks (handy for dropping a bass line down an octave mid-loop), and a TRS remote jack lets you trigger those functions from an external switch. The Decay knob controls how overdubs fade over repeated cycles, from permanent layering to one-shot passes, and pairs with a dedicated Volume knob for loop-level control. Outputs can run as a mixed stereo pair or split Wet/Dry for separate loop and pass-through signal paths into your rig.
