Description
The Schecter J-4 Sixx isn’t chasing a clean showroom look — it’s built to feel like it’s already been through a few hundred gigs. The Worn Ivory relic finish over an alder body gives this bass instant character, while the hardware stays practical with black finishing throughout.
Under your hand, the roasted maple neck (reinforced with carbon fiber rods) delivers a Thin “C” profile that’s fast without feeling flimsy. Twenty-one narrow X-Jumbo frets sit on a 16″ radius board, and glow-in-the-dark side dots mean you’re not fumbling for position on a dark stage. The 34″ scale keeps tension familiar and tone full, while the Graph Tech nut and heel-access truss rod wheel make setup and maintenance a non-issue.
Tone-wise, this is where the J-4 Sixx earns its keep. Dual Schecter USA MonsterTone-J pickups deliver that classic J-bass growl with more output on tap, and the push-pull coil-tap on the tone knob lets you flip between full humbucking thickness and a leaner, more vintage single-coil snap — all from one control layout of Volume/Volume/Tone.
The bridge is set up for either string-through or top-load stringing, giving you flexibility in how you set your action and feel. Bolt-on construction keeps things rigid and punchy, exactly what you want when you’re digging in live.
