Description
Every bassist knows the StingRay sound the second it hits the room – that fat, aggressive midrange thump that cuts through any mix. The RAY4 brings that DNA to a working musician’s price point without watering down the tone. A single ceramic humbucker paired with a 9-volt 2-band active preamp gives you plenty of headroom to sculpt lows and highs, whether you’re locking in with a kick drum in a small club or filling out a bigger stage mix.
The basswood body wears a Trans Blue Satin finish over a black pickguard, and the hard maple neck is bolted on with 6 screws for a rock-solid connection between neck and body – important when you’re digging in hard on stage. The Jatoba fingerboard has a comfortable 9.5″ radius and 21 medium frets marked with black/white dots, so fast runs and position shifts stay easy to track under stage lights.
Practical touches carry through the whole build: a fully adjustable heavy-duty fixed bridge for dialing in your string spacing and intonation, open gear tuners for smooth, stable tuning, and a single-action truss rod for straightforward neck adjustments. It ships strung with .45-1.05 gauge strings and a 1.5″ nut width that suits players coming from most standard bass necks.
