Description
On bass, a clean boost lives or dies by what it does to your low end, and the EP Booster earns its reputation there. Born from the tone of the old EP-3 tape echo preamp that shaped iconic guitar tones, this discrete FET circuit brings that same open, musical lift to a bass signal — pushing your front end without smearing the low string or making the highs brittle.
Dial in up to +20dB of boost to punch through a dense mix, drive a slightly hungry tube amp into more grit, or just restore clarity and body after a long cable run and a pedalboard’s worth of buffers. Internal DIP switches let you shape which frequencies get the boost, so you can voice it to fatten a passive bass, tighten up a boomy active one, or simply add sheen without disturbing your fundamental tone.
It’s built small and tough enough for the working bassist — a compact 3.5″ x 1.5″ x 1.5″ enclosure with true bypass switching so it disappears from your tone when it’s off, a blue LED for stage visibility, and a transparent knob that’s easy to see at a glance. Power it with a standard 9V battery or step it up to 18V for extra headroom.
