Description
The XJ-1T isn’t chasing vintage nostalgia — it’s built by bassists who took what works about the Jazz Bass formula and refined every detail. Under the hood sits Xotic’s own 3-band preamp with mid and bright switching plus output gain control, so you can dial in anything from a fat, rolled-off thump to a modern, aggressive slap tone without reaching for a pedal. The onboard HRI (Hum Reduction Inductor) keeps things quiet even when you’re pushing the EQ hard.
The ash body carries a 21-fret maple neck finished in oil for a fast, natural feel under the hands, paired with a maple fretboard and a genuine bone nut for solid tone transfer at the string’s anchor point. Xotic’s own JB pickups deliver that snarling, articulate low-mid growl the Jazz Bass platform is known for, while Hipshot UltraLight tuners keep the headstock light and the neck balanced on a strap.
Small touches add up: a Type-A brass bridge for sustain and definition, chrome hardware throughout, a Gotoh strap button you can trust on a long set, and glow-in-the-dark Luminova position markers for those dim-stage moments when you need to find your spot fast.
