Description
Rewiring an active bass yourself is a rite of passage, but it eats up gig prep time you’d rather spend practicing. The Bartolini HR3.2/918 harness skips that step entirely — it arrives pre-wired with Bartolini’s respected 2-band preamp and audio-grade pots already mounted and ready to drop into your control cavity. Bartolini has been building pickups and electronics out of San Luis Obispo, California for decades, supplying luthiers and repair shops worldwide with 100% USA-made gear, and Pro Audio Land has carried their lineup as an authorized dealer for years.
This particular harness runs a 2-band EQ with a Treble/Bass stack tone control housed in a single pot hole, paired with two separate Volume knobs for dual-pickup control — a layout a lot of bassists prefer over blend-pot setups since each pickup gets its own dedicated level. The 9V/18V switchable preamp means you can run standard headroom for most gigs or flip to 18V when you need extra dynamic range and lower noise floor for demanding sessions.
Everything needed to get it running is in the box:
- 2-band EQ preamp with Treble/Bass stack tone control
- 2 Volume controls (one per pickup)
- Second battery clip for the 18V option
- Wiring instructions
- Black ring and center knobs for the tone stack
Pots feel smooth under the thumb and are built for the kind of repeated use a working bass sees week after week. If you’re chasing a cleaner low end with more tonal shaping than a passive setup allows, this harness gets you there without the soldering headaches.
