Description
For bassists who’d rather spend an afternoon dialing in tone than untangling wire diagrams, the Bartolini HR5.2AP/918 harness is a straight upgrade path. It’s a complete pre-amp and control assembly, built and wired by Bartolini so you can drop it into your bass and get back to playing — no guesswork on which wire goes where.
What sets this harness apart is the push-pull Active/Passive switch built into the Volume knob, giving you the option to run hot and shaped through the 3-band EQ, or bypass it entirely for a raw, passive signal when that’s the vibe you’re after. The Mid control also carries its own push-pull, letting you flip between two different frequency centers so you can chase down exactly where your bass sits in the mix — whether you need it scooped for slap or punched up for a growling fingerstyle tone.
Layout-wise, you’re looking at five control positions total: Volume with the Active/Passive switch, a Blend pot, and Treble, Mid, and Bass for shaping the EQ. It runs on 9V or 18V power, and Bartolini includes a second battery clip so you can wire it for the 18V option if you want extra headroom and clarity.
