Description
Sometimes you need low end without an amp rig, and that’s where the CB-60SCE earns its keep. Fender built this one around a concert-sized body with a solid spruce top and mahogany back and sides, so you get a low end that’s articulate rather than muddy – notes come through with definition even when you’re digging in unplugged. The scalloped X-bracing helps the top breathe, giving the bass a responsive, dynamic feel whether you’re fingerpicking a ballad or thumping through a full set.
The neck is where Fender’s Classic Design lineage really shows. It carries the same slim-taper ‘Easy-to-Play’ profile as the rest of the series, with rolled fingerboard edges that make long sets and quick position shifts feel natural under your fretting hand. A 32″ scale, 12″ radius rosewood fingerboard and 22 vintage-style frets round out a neck that beginners and gigging pros can both settle into quickly.
For stage and studio work, the built-in Fishman Classic Design pickup/preamp system covers you with onboard Volume, Bass, Middle and Treble controls plus a handy tuner, so you can dial in your tone and check pitch without breaking stride. Fender Phosphor Bronze Bass strings (.045-.100) come installed for a warm, present acoustic voice from the moment you pick it up.
