Description
The Rumble 500 is Fender’s answer to bassists who want serious power without a herniated disc. This V3 combo packs two 10″ Eminence-designed ceramic speakers and a compression tweeter into a lightweight plywood cabinet, delivering 500 watts into 4 ohms with an external speaker cab, or 350 watts running on its own internal 8-ohm load. Class-D power means you get that headroom without the usual back-breaking weight — this thing tips the scale at just 36.5 lbs.
Tone shaping is where this amp earns its keep on a real gig. A single channel handles the heavy lifting, but flip on the Bright, Contour, or Vintage switches and you can move from modern slap-friendly clarity to warm, vintage-flavored thump without touching a patch cable. A foot-switchable overdrive circuit (footswitch sold separately) lets you kick in grit on command, mid-song, hands-free. Four-band EQ — Bass, Low-Mid, High-Mid, Treble — plus a dedicated Gain and Master Volume give you the reach to dial in anything from a jazz gig to a stage that demands some bite.
Practical touches matter too: a 1/8″ aux input for practicing along with tracks, a 1/8″ headphone jack for silent woodshedding, an XLR line out with ground lift for going direct, and an effects loop for adding pedals into the signal chain post-preamp. The tweeter has its own on/off switch when you want smoother top end, and the front grille pulls off for easy access or a different look on stage.
