Some gigs call for thump, others call for bite, and plenty call for both in the same set. The Deluxe Precision Bass Special was built for that reality. Fender took the split single-coil Precision pickup everyone trusts for low-end authority and paired it with a dual-coil ceramic Noiseless Jazz pickup at the bridge, giving you punch and snarl from one instrument without swapping basses between songs.
The Alder body keeps things balanced and resonant, while the maple neck in a comfortable “C” shape and 12″ radius fingerboard makes fast lines and wide stretches feel natural under your hand. Medium jumbo frets add a bit of grip for bends and vibrato, and the contoured neck heel means upper-fret access doesn’t fight you mid-solo.
An active/passive switch lets you run it clean and vintage-correct or push it for more headroom and EQ shaping when the room demands it. The Fender Hi-Mass bridge locks in sustain and stability, so your low B… well, E, stays solid through aggressive playing.
