Description
The Jazz Bass thump is one of those tones you just know when you hear it, and the Player Series version delivers it without fuss. Two Alnico 5 single-coils give you that scooped-mid growl on the bridge pickup and a fatter, rounder voice from the neck position, blendable through independent volumes and a master tone so you can dial in everything from a subby reggae pocket to an aggressive slap tone.
The alder body wears a gloss polyester finish in Black, paired with a Maple neck carved in the Modern “C” profile. It’s fast under the hand thanks to a 9.5″ radius Pau Ferro fingerboard and 20 medium-jumbo frets, comfortable whether you’re walking upright lines or running fills up the neck. A satin urethane back-of-neck finish keeps things smooth for hours of playing, and the synthetic bone nut helps with tuning stability.
Setup-wise, the 4-saddle bridge makes intonation and action adjustments straightforward, so you can get the feel exactly how you like it and keep it there. Open-gear tuning machines, vintage-style string trees, and a 3-ply parchment pickguard round out the look, while the four-bolt neck plate stamped with the “F” logo is a small detail that confirms this is genuine Fender through and through.
