Description
This is the bass Flea trusts to keep pace with his own chaotic energy – a Jazz Bass reworked for players who hit hard and want the low end to hit back just as hard. The single Fender Custom Humbucking pickup pairs with an Aguilar OBP-1 18-volt preamp to deliver a hot, punchy signal with plenty of headroom, whether you’re slapping through a funk breakdown or laying into a driving groove live.
The quartersawn maple neck carries a comfortable “C” profile that suits multiple playing styles, and the custom-carved heel opens up easy access to the upper frets when you need to reach past the pocket. A 12-16″ compound-radius fingerboard with 22 medium jumbo frets keeps the feel fast up and down the neck, while the bone nut helps tuning hold steady under aggressive attack.
Other build details worth noting for gigging players:
- Alder body in Satin Inca Silver finish, shaped in the classic Jazz Bass profile
- 4-saddle HiMass bridge for added sustain and stability
- Vintage-style disc string tree and lightweight vintage-style tuning machines with tapered shafts
- 5-bolt asymmetrical neck plate featuring custom Flea artwork
- Master Volume, Treble, and Bass controls with knurled dome knobs
Comes with a vintage-style G&G hardshell case and Certificate of Authenticity – so it’s ready to go straight from the shop to the stage.
