Left-handed players know the drill: most “versatile” basses aren’t actually built for you, they’re just mirrored as an afterthought. This American Professional Jazz Bass isn’t that. It’s the real thing, built specifically for southpaws, with the same craftsmanship and modern updates Fender put into the standard run.
Under the hood are Michael Bump’s V-Mod single-coil Jazz Bass pickups, voiced with a carefully chosen mix of alnico magnets. You get that classic Jazz Bass growl and snap, the kind that’s driven funk lines, disco grooves, and rock bottom-end since 1960, but with more clarity and output than the vintage originals ever had.
The alder body wears a gloss 3-Color Sunburst finish over a slim “Modern C” maple neck with a rosewood board and narrow-tall frets. That fret profile makes bending and fretting up the neck feel natural, while the 9.5″ radius keeps everything comfortable under your fretting hand. Posiflex graphite rods run through the neck to fight off warping from humidity and temperature swings, so it holds up on tour or in a hot van.
Fluted-shaft tuning machines pull the string windings down tight for a cleaner break angle and better tuning stability, and the vintage-style HiMass 4-saddle bridge adds sustain and low-end weight without sacrificing that old-school look. A bone nut rounds out the top end for clarity and sustain.
