Description
Adam Blackstone has led bands behind some of the biggest names in music, and his “Gladys” signature bass is built for the kind of gig where there’s no room for excuses — just tone, feel, and reliability night after night. Named for his grandmother, Mrs. Gladys Jackson, this Pro Series 5-string takes the classic Jackson Concert shape and dials it in for real working bassists.
The poplar body sits on a bolt-on maple neck reinforced with graphite for stability that holds up under heavy playing and climate changes on the road. A 9″–16″ compound radius maple fingerboard flattens out as you move up the neck, so chords and low positions feel natural while fast runs and slap passages stay slinky up high. 21 jumbo frets across the 34″ scale give you plenty of room to dig in.
Custom-voiced Jackson BBE J-style pickups deliver the growl and punch this bass was designed around, and the active 3-band EQ lets you shape lows, mids, and highs to cut through a mix or sit deep in a pocket, whatever the song calls for. A Jackson Hi-Mass bridge tightens up attack and sustain without coloring the natural tone, and open-gear tuners keep the low B and every string locked in tune through long sets.
Visually, this one’s built to stand out under stage lights: a striking Black Stone finish, creme pickguard, black block inlays, dome control knobs, and a mix of black and gold hardware, all topped off with a color-matched 4+1 paddle headstock. A gig bag is included so it’s ready to travel the moment it’s out of the box.
