Description
Bassists who’ve lived with the original Vintage Ultra already know what it’s good for: a warm, saturable overdrive stage stacked with a full EQ section that can go from subtle tube-amp grit to full-on fuzz. The V2 keeps that same drive circuit and adds the studio/live tools that turn it into a genuine backline replacement.
- Drive & Blend controls – Drive sets saturation depth, Level sets the volume of that overdriven signal, and Blend mixes it back in with your clean tone at unity gain, so you can dial in anything from a whisper of grit to full saturation without losing low-end definition.
- Attack & Grunt switches – Attack shapes how much treble gets saturated (Boost/Flat/Cut), while Grunt picks from three bass-boost levels feeding into the clipping stage, letting you tailor exactly which frequencies get dirty.
- Full 4-band EQ – Bass and Treble at fixed points, plus switchable Lo Mids (250Hz/500Hz/1kHz) and Hi Mids (750Hz/1.5kHz/3kHz), all at +/-12dB, for real tone-shaping power on a pedalboard.
- Balanced XLR Direct Output with switchable cab sim and ground lift, ready to hit a PA or mixing console with or without cabinet coloration.
- Onboard cab sim IR loading via Micro-USB and the Darkglass Suite, so you can load your own single impulse response and carry your tone between venues.
- 3.5mm headphone output with cab sim for silent practice, plus an internal stereo headphone amp rated to drive loads down to 16 ohms.
- Master volume for overall output and DI level control independent of the drive circuit.
Whether it’s anchoring a low-end setup at rehearsal or running direct into the house at a gig, the Vintage Ultra v2 is built to be the one box that covers tone, drive, and DI duties.
