The Vintage Ultra V2 is Darkglass’s answer to the age-old question: do you really need to haul an amp to sound huge? This second-generation preamp gives you two distinct tonal personalities — a clean voice with serious low-end weight, and a saturated side that adds vintage-flavored grit without burying your note. Run it straight into the house PA and skip the backline entirely, or keep it on your board as a tone-shaping workhorse in front of your amp.
Darkglass listened to real players when building this version. The overdrive now has its own dedicated switch, so you can kick the drive in or out without disturbing your dialed-in EQ. Each mid band gets a 3-way toggle, opening up six total mid-emphasis voicings — plenty of room to carve out space in a dense mix or fatten up a sparse one.
