These are true single-coils, not stacked humbuckers, so you get that raw, in-your-face single-coil character with a serious output boost over stock pickups. Blues, classic rock, garage, heavy rock, classic metal, nu-metal — this set handles aggressive playing without losing definition.
The SJB-3B (bridge) and SJB-3N (neck) come pre-calibrated as a matched pair, so you’re not guessing at balance between positions. The neck pickup is slightly narrower to fit correctly, and the neck coil is reverse-wound/reverse-polarity, meaning when you blend both pickups you get natural hum cancellation instead of noise. Quarter-inch pole pieces and dense winding push output higher than Duncan’s Hot models while keeping attack sharp and sustain long. A logo cover is included on each pickup. Players chasing even more tonal shaping often pair this set with an STC-2 or STC-3 Tone Circuit.
Rounding out the bundle is a set of Ernie Ball Super Slinky Bass strings (EB2834), gauged .045, .065, .080, .100. These are wound for a bright, balanced tone and made from carefully sourced raw materials at Ernie Ball’s Coachella Valley facility — the same strings used by a long list of touring and recording bassists.
