Description
If you play a Thunderbird-shaped bass and want more definition without losing the weight that makes low end feel good under your fingers, this is the pickup to look at. The Bartolini T4CBC is the neck-position unit from the Classic Bass (CB) series, a dual-coil humbucker cast in epoxy to keep hum and microphonics out of your signal so you’re only hearing string, not noise.
What sets the CB series apart from a lot of passive bass pickups is how it handles the top end. Instead of the usual dark, woolly neck-pickup tone, you get an extended, more resonant frequency response that opens things up and adds articulation to your attack, while the lows and low-mids stay full and grounded. That’s useful whether you’re locking in with a kick drum live or trying to cut through a dense mix without EQ gymnastics.
The CNC-machined pole pieces are engineered to track string spacing from 50mm to 59mm on fingerboards with medium curvature, so string-to-string output stays balanced across the neck — no dead spots, no one string jumping out louder than the rest.
- Bartolini Classic Bass (CB) Series, model T4CBC
- Dual-coil humbucker in the classic Thunderbird soapbar shape
- 4-conductor wiring for flexible coil configurations
- Passive design, epoxy-potted against feedback and microphonics

- Neck position pickup, factory sealed
A solid upgrade path for anyone chasing a punchier, more detailed passive tone out of a Thunderbird-shaped bass.
