Each string starts with a round core wire wrapped in silver-plated, nickel-plated steel — DR’s tried-and-true recipe for a punchy, present low end with enough growl to cut through a dense mix. Over that goes DR’s K3 coating in a multi-color neon finish, so instead of one plain color per set you get a spread of luminescent hues across the strings. Under regular light they look sharp; under UV or blacklight, they glow, which is exactly the kind of stage presence bassists in metal, prog, or anything with a light show tend to want.
