Description
Built for left-handed players who don’t want to compromise on low-end authority, this Delano JC5 HE/M2 set brings split-coil humbucking design to the 5-string JB-style format, with both pickups housed in bridge-size shells. Because each coil only senses the narrow slice of string a traditional single coil would pick up, you get that familiar snap and articulation — just without the 60-cycle hum riding along with it.
- Left-hand configuration, both shells sized for bridge position
- Split-coil humbucking design based on the JB® footprint
- Tight, full low end with real low-mid warmth
- Velvet mids and a sparkling top end that reacts to touch dynamics
- B string stays defined and controlled even on a 34" scale neck
- E string retains the punch and clarity of a solid 4-string tone
- Works in passive, active, or hybrid wiring setups
Where this set earns its keep is on the low-B. A lot of 5-string pickups let that string turn to mud past the 5th fret, especially on a 34" scale instrument, but the JC5 HE/M2 keeps it tight and readable while the E string still carries the weight and character you’d expect from a well-voiced 4-string. Mids sit soft and rounded rather than harsh, and the top end has enough sparkle to cut through a band mix without getting brittle. Drop them into a passive bass for classic JB grind, wire them active for more headroom and EQ range, or run a hybrid setup — either way, the humbucking split-coil design stays quiet on stage and in the studio.
