If your Stingray or Sterling needs more weight in the low end, the EMG MMCS is built to fill that gap. It’s a direct replacement for the Music Man 4-string soapbar slot, keeping that same big-pickup footprint that Music Man made famous, but with EMG’s active circuitry driving the tone.
Inside, you get dual coils spaced a full inch apart across a large surface area, which is a big part of why this pickup pulls so much low-end thump out of the string. EMG paired ceramic magnets with steel in their CS design, so the ceramic keeps the top end open and articulate while the steel bumps up inductance for a low-end that feels powerful without turning muddy. It’s a pickup that cleans up nicely for slap and pick work but still has the warmth to sit back for a ballad or a slow groove.
Everything you need to wire it into your bass comes in the box:
