Description
Don’t let the compact 30″ scale fool you – the Fullerton Deluxe Fallout hits like a full-size bass while staying friendly on the fretting hand. If you’ve been eyeing a short scale for smaller gigs, easier travel, or just a different feel under your fingers, this one delivers real low-end authority instead of a toy-sized compromise.
At the heart of it is G&L’s Magnetic Field Design humbucking pickup, wired to a 3-position mini-toggle that flips between parallel, split, and series (OMG) modes – the same switching setup found on the L-1000. That means you’re not locked into one voice: dial in punchy modern thump, pull back for a leaner vintage-inspired growl, or push into series mode for maximum output and girth. It’s a lot of tonal ground covered from a single pickup.
Under the hood you get an Alder body, bolt-on Maple neck, and a Caribbean rosewood fingerboard, paired with G&L’s Saddle-Lock Bridge for solid string-to-body coupling and G&L Ultra Lite tuners to keep the headstock balanced. Players coming from a standard 34″ instrument will notice how quickly the shorter scale disappears under their hands once they start playing.
Available finishes:
- 3-Tone Sunburst over Alder, 3-ply tortoise pickguard, Caribbean rosewood fingerboard
- Himalayan Blue over Alder, 3-ply parchment pickguard, Caribbean rosewood fingerboard
- Alpine White over Alder, 3-ply pearl pickguard, Caribbean rosewood fingerboard
- Purpleburst over Ash, 3-ply pearl pickguard, Maple fingerboard
Whether it’s your main gigging bass or the short scale you keep close for songwriting and stage flexibility, the Fallout is built to earn its spot on the strap.
