If you want that familiar split-coil growl but built to G&L’s exacting Fullerton standards, this is your bass.
The alder body keeps the tone rich and traditional, and each finish option pairs with a pickguard chosen to match — no afterthought color combos here. Choose from:
- Jet Black over Alder, 3-ply parchment pickguard, Maple fingerboard
- Fullerton Red over Alder, 3-ply tortoise pickguard, Caribbean rosewood fingerboard
- 3-Tone Sunburst over Alder, 3-ply tortoise pickguard, Maple fingerboard
Up the neck, you get a slim hard-rock maple neck in a Clear Tint Satin finish with a vintage gloss feel — fast under the hand, comfortable for long sets. A 9 1/2″ fingerboard radius and Jescar 57110 medium-jumbo nickel-silver frets keep the playing surface smooth from open position all the way up, whether you’re locking into a groove or working the upper register.
Under the strings sits the real party trick: Leo Fender’s own Saddle-Lock bridge design, which anchors string energy directly into the body’s end grain instead of losing it to the hardware. The result is a bass that resonates more, sustains longer, and feels genuinely alive under your fingers.
Built in the original G&L facility on Fender Avenue in Fullerton, California — the Birthplace of Bolt-on — since Leo Fender founded the company in 1980. This is a working bassist’s instrument through and through.
