Description
The Mad Professor BlueBerry Bass Overdrive (BBBOD) isn’t a one-note fuzz box — it’s a dynamic, playing-sensitive drive that reacts to your right hand the way an old tube bass amp would. Dig in and it snarls more; play soft and it cleans up, with no hard clipping edge, just shifting shades of grit as your attack changes.
At lower Drive settings you get that loose, amp-like breakup where dynamics do the work. Push the Drive knob further and the tone tightens into a thicker, more compressed distortion for when you need consistency over touch-sensitivity. There’s enough output on tap to run it purely as a clean boost too.
What really sets the BBBOD apart is the Nature control. It’s not just tone-shaping — it decides which frequencies actually distort. Roll it counter-clockwise for big, fat low-end breakup, or clockwise to push the grit into the upper midrange for a cutting solo voice that sits above the band.
Built for bass, but equally usable on other low-frequency sources looking for controlled, dynamic dirt.
- VOLUME – overall output level
- DRIVE – sets amount and character of distortion; low settings track playing dynamics, high settings compress and thicken
- NATURE – tone/filter control that determines which register distorts, from low-end fat to upper-mid cut
