Description
Left-handed bassists get shortchanged too often — the Riot-4 LH doesn’t feel like an afterthought. Schecter built this one with the same attention to tone and playability as its right-handed sibling, and it shows the moment you dig into a string.
The swamp ash body keeps things resonant and lightweight, while the burl top over a bevel-edge contour gives the Aurora Burst finish real depth instead of just sitting flat on the wood. It’s a bass that looks as good under stage lights as it sounds through a rig.
Up the neck, a Maple/Walnut multi-ply neck with carbon fiber reinforcement rods keeps things stable and stiff, so your low B — or E, if you’re keeping it standard — stays solid rather than wobbly. The Thin “C” profile is fast under the hand, the ebony fretboard is smooth and dark-toned, and 24 X-Jumbo frets give you room to roam across a 34″ scale. A Graph Tech Black Tusq XL nut and 16″ fretboard radius round out a neck that’s built for both riffing and fingerstyle work.
Tone comes from the EMG 35JX-CS bridge and EMG 35PX-CS neck pickups, run through EMG-B30 active 3-band EQ with volume and blend controls — plenty of headroom to sculpt everything from thumping sub-lows to cutting mids. The Schecter Custom Bass bridge works string-through or top-load, giving you flexibility in string tension and feel.
