Some bass tones you feel before you even hear them, and that’s exactly what the SVT-VR is chasing. This is Ampeg’s faithful recreation of the early 1970s “Blue-Line” SVT head, rebuilt from the input jack to the output tubes to preserve the same signal path and grit that made the original a staple on rock stages. No shortcuts, no digital modeling — just six 6550 power tubes doing the heavy lifting alongside a full tube preamp section.
Run it at 300 watts RMS into a 2 or 4 ohm cabinet and you’ve got enough headroom to stay clean when you want, or push it into that classic Ampeg snarl when you don’t. Two discrete channels give you room to blend or switch between tones, while the Bass, Mid, and Treble controls — plus the 3-position mid rocker switch and Ultra Low/High boosts — let you dial in everything from thick, woolly low end to a more cutting, aggressive edge.
Built for gigging bassists who care about tone as much as reliability, it connects via Neutrik Speakon or standard 1/4″ outputs, and includes a transformer-balanced line out plus a preamp out/power amp in for flexible rig setups.
