Description
If you’ve ever wanted your bridge pickup to carry more low-end weight instead of just adding bite, the Bartolini 59J1-L is built for that job. It’s a direct replacement for the bridge position on Fender Jazz Bass style 5-strings, engineered specifically as the ‘long’ pickup with a dual in-line, hum-canceling coil design — so you get quiet operation along with a deep, low-mid-forward tone that holds up in a mix.
This is part of Bartolini’s Original Series, a passive lineup where each pickup is cast in epoxy to kill unwanted feedback and microphonics. That means less noise on stage, more focus on your playing, and a pickup that stays reliable gig after gig.
One thing worth knowing before you buy: on real J-Bass builds, the neck and bridge pickups aren’t the same size. The neck pickup typically measures 3-5/8″ long, while the bridge pickup — like this one — measures 3-3/4″ long. Some modern basses actually use two long-style pickups instead of a matched neck/bridge pair, and in those cases you’d need the LN (long neck) version for the neck slot rather than a second bridge unit. A few rare builds go the opposite way and use two short neck-length pickups. Bottom line: measure your existing pickup before ordering to make sure the physical dimensions line up.
