When you’re running your rig through multiple destinations at a gig — FOH, monitor world, and a recording or broadcast feed — the last thing you want is signal degradation eating into the punch of your bass tone. The ART S8-3Way is built to route eight XLR inputs to three separate outputs each, cleanly and passively, so every mix location gets the full picture of what’s coming off the stage.
Each of the eight channels takes one XLR input and delivers a direct XLR output plus two transformer-isolated XLR outputs — three balanced feeds total per channel, 24 outputs across the whole unit. That’s enough flexibility to send your direct signal straight to FOH, keep monitors humming off a second feed, and hand off an isolated, ground-loop-free signal to a remote recording desk or broadcast truck, all from a single mic or line source.
The transformers inside are the same units found in ART’s well-regarded S8 splitter — known for a musical, natural sound rather than a sterile, over-processed one. That matters when you’re splitting a bass signal three ways; you want the low end to stay intact from stage to tape to broadcast.
Housed in a steel 1U rack chassis with reversible rack ears, this splitter is built for the long haul — festival stages, permanent installs, or studio patch bays.
