Description
Rewiring a bass control cavity from scratch is nobody’s favorite part of a build or upgrade — this harness skips that step entirely. Bartolini’s HR-3.3AP/918 arrives fully assembled with their proven 2-band preamp already mated to premium pots, so you’re soldering a handful of leads instead of hand-wiring a whole circuit under time pressure.
The layout is built for real-world playing: one pot handles Volume and doubles as an Active/Passive switch via push-pull, paired with a Blend pot in the same hole. A single stacked Treble/Bass control rounds things out, giving you fast tone shaping without cluttering your bass with extra knobs. Flip to passive when you want your instrument’s raw voice, or go active and dial in low-end punch and top-end clarity on the fly — useful when you’re jumping between a DI, a dirty club PA, or a quiet room.
Because it’s 9V/18V capable, you get more headroom and dynamic range when you want it, without being locked into a single voltage. The harness includes a second battery clip for the 18V option, wiring instructions, and black ring plus center knobs for the tone stack, so you’re not hunting down small parts separately.
Bartolini has been building pickups and preamps in San Luis Obispo, California for decades, supplying luthiers and repair shops worldwide with 100% USA-made electronics. This harness carries that same reputation for smooth, quiet pots and preamp tone that holds up under stage volume and studio scrutiny alike.
