This signature model isn’t a museum replica of that bass; it’s built to work the same way his did, night after night, string after string.
The ash body wears a light Road Worn lacquer finish and the same subtle contours Mendel’s original picked up over the years, so it sits against your body like it’s already broken in. Underneath your hand is a slimmer “C”-profile maple neck with a narrower 1.615″ nut width — quick, comfortable, and easy to move around on for players who dig in hard or move fast between lines. A 7.25″ radius rosewood board with 20 medium jumbo frets keeps that vintage feel intact.
Tone comes from a Seymour Duncan Basslines SPB-3 Quarter Pound split single-coil — a P pickup with real muscle, giving you thick low end and enough output to hold its own against loud guitars and a full kit. A Fender High-Mass bridge adds sustain and low-end focus, while vintage-style ’70s stamped open-gear tuners and a synthetic bone nut round out hardware built for reliability on the road.
