This Deluxe Active Jazz Bass is built for players who want the classic Jazz snap without dragging noise into the mix. The alder or ash body carries a maple neck in Fender’s comfortable “C” shape, topped with a maple fingerboard finished in 3-Color Sunburst — black pearloid dots mark the way up the 12″ radius board with medium jumbo frets under your fingers.
Tone comes from a pair of Dual-Coil Ceramic Vintage Noiseless pickups: the split single-coil in the middle chases that classic P-Bass thump, while the bridge unit with nickel-plated pole pieces delivers the growl and bite Jazz Basses are known for — all without the 60-cycle hum you’d get from true single-coils. Flip the active/passive switch to go from a boosted, shaped active voice to a raw, straight-to-the-amp passive tone, depending on what the room and the song call for.
A 4-saddle Fender Hi-Mass bridge locks in low-end sustain and helps this bass punch harder than its price tag suggests, and a contoured neck heel keeps upper-fret access smooth for those runs that climb past the twelfth. It ships strung with Fender USA NPS strings (.045–.105) and comes with a Deluxe Gig Bag, so you’re covered from practice room to load-in.
