Description
Don’t let the size fool you. The Micro-VR crams that unmistakable Ampeg SVT snarl into a head small enough to toss in a gig bag, but it still hits with 200 watts of genuine Round Sound authority. Wrapped in classic 1970s SVT styling, it’s built to sit on top of the SVT 210AV cabinet (sold separately) for a mini stack that punches way above its weight.
Under the hood it’s a straightforward single-channel solid-state design, so there’s nothing fussy between your bass and your tone. Dial in Gain, Bass, Mid, and Treble alongside Volume, then flip on the selectable 15 dB input pad if you’re running hot pickups or an aggressive front end. A selectable Limiter with its own LED keeps things in check on stage, while the Peak LED gives you a heads-up before clipping becomes a problem.
Practical touches make this thing gig-ready: an auxiliary input for playing along at practice, a headphone output for silent woodshedding, an effects loop with dedicated send/return, and a balanced XLR output for going straight to the house. The lightweight switching power supply with voltage selector means it travels easily, and a fan keeps the MOS-FET power amp (200 watts RMS into 4 ohms) running cool through long sets. This unit is a demo/open box item — fully functional Ampeg tone at a friendlier price.
