Description
This Deluxe Active Jazz Bass is the kind of instrument you grab when the gig calls for both vintage growl and modern punch. Under your right hand, the two Vintage Noiseless Jazz Bass pickups give you that classic gnarly midrange and singing top end, minus the 60-cycle hum that plagues traditional single-coils. Flip the active/passive switch and you’re instantly moving between old-school passive warmth and a hotter, EQ-shaped active voice — no pedal or DI trickery required.
The three-band active EQ puts real tonal control at your fingertips, letting you carve out space in a dense mix or push more low-end for a solo passage without touching an amp knob. Paired with the four-saddle HiMass bridge, notes hold their pitch and sustain even when you’re digging in hard through a whole set.
Neck feel matters just as much as tone, and Fender gave this one a modern C-shape maple neck with a Pau Ferro fingerboard, 12-inch radius, and medium jumbo frets — fast, comfortable, and familiar whether you’re walking basslines or slapping. The alder body wears a gloss Olympic White finish over the classic offset Jazz Bass shape, dressed up with a 3-ply black/white/black pickguard and pearloid dot inlays.
