Fender built this Artist Series P-Bass around that philosophy, and it shows the second you plug in. The Seymour Duncan Basslines SPB-3 Quarter Pound split-coil pickup pushes out a hotter, denser signal than a stock Precision, giving you more push through a mix without reaching for a compressor pedal. Master volume and master tone are all you get, and that’s the point — dial it in once at soundcheck and play.
The alder body wears a black-on-black finish, paired with a single-ply black pickguard, black bridge, and black strap buttons for a stealthy, no-nonsense look. Under your palm is a thick ‘C’-shape maple neck with a 9.5″ radius maple fingerboard and 20 medium jumbo frets — a chunkier grip that rewards players who like something substantial to dig into. A machined brass nut adds sustain and clarity at the open end, while the vintage-style ’70s Fender-stamped open-gear tuners and gasketed ‘F’-stamped neck plate nod straight to the era this bass draws from.
