Description
The Jazz Bass shape has been a bassist’s best friend for decades, and the Player Series version keeps that legacy honest without pretending to be something fancier than it is. This one’s finished in Black, with an Alder body and a Maple neck carrying a Maple fingerboard—so you get that bright, snappy attack on top of the round low end Jazz Basses are known for.
Two Player Series Alnico 5 single-coils (bridge and middle) give you that classic dual-pickup blend—scoop the middle out for slap, blend them both for that thick, honking Jazz Bass voice, or lean on the bridge pickup for something more aggressive and cutting through a dense mix. Independent volume knobs for each pickup plus a master tone control mean you can dial in your exact flavor on the fly, mid-set, without digging through pedals.
The “Modern C” neck profile is carved for speed—fast under the hand, with a 9.5″ fingerboard radius and 20 medium-jumbo frets that make bending and reaching across the fretboard feel natural whether you’re playing fingerstyle, pick, or slap. The 4-saddle bridge lets you get intonation and action set exactly how you like it, so the bass adjusts to you instead of the other way around.
Rounding it out: a synthetic bone nut, vintage-style string trees, open-gear tuners, a 3-ply parchment pickguard, and the four-bolt “F”-stamped neck plate that’s become a quiet signal of the real thing.
