Description
There’s a reason the Jazz Bass shape has stuck around on stages and in studios for decades — it just feels right under the hands, and the Player Series version keeps that heritage intact while dialing the tone up for today’s ears. Two Player Series Alnico 5 single-coil pickups sit in the classic SS configuration, giving you that punchy, tight low end with a growling edge that cuts through a mix without stepping on anyone’s toes.
The alder body wears a gloss polyester Tidepool finish, paired with a Modern “C”-shaped maple neck that’s fast and comfortable whether you’re locked into a groove or reaching for a fill. The 9.5″ radius fingerboard and 20 medium-jumbo frets keep things playable across styles, and the maple board itself adds a bit of extra snap and clarity to the attack.
Dial in your sound with independent volume controls for each pickup plus a master tone knob — simple, direct, and exactly what you need on a gig where you don’t have time to overthink your rig. The 4-saddle bridge lets you fine-tune intonation and action to match your touch, while a synthetic bone nut, vintage-style string trees, and open-gear tuners round out hardware that’s built to hold up to real use.
Small details matter too: the 3-ply parchment pickguard and the four-bolt “F”-stamped neck plate are quiet reminders that this is a genuine Fender, through and through.
