Description
Some basses you learn on. This one you grow into. The Jazz Bass has been the backbone of funk, disco, fusion, and rock since 1960, and the American Professional version updates that legacy without softening what made it great in the first place. This particular unit is a demo — played, but gently, and set up to go straight into your gig bag.
The alder body wears a Natural gloss poly finish over a maple neck and maple board, giving you that bright, snappy attack that cuts through a mix without needing to fight the EQ. The Slim “C” neck profile is built for speed — narrow-tall frets keep your intonation honest, and Posiflex graphite support rods keep the neck rock-stable no matter how hard you dig in or how many climate changes your gig calendar throws at it.
Under the hood, Michael Bump’s V-Mod single-coil Jazz Bass pickups (bridge and middle) deliver that classic scooped-and-growly jazz bass voice, dialed in with a blend of alnico magnets for real vintage character. Independent volume controls for each pickup plus a master tone knob mean you can blend your way from thumpy and round to biting and present, right on the fly.
