Description
Some overdrives give you one flavor of dirt. Alpha·Omega gives you two, born from an 18-month collaboration between Darkglass and bassist/producer Jon Stockman. Built on op-amp circuitry rather than the preamp-style designs Darkglass is known for, it houses a pair of completely separate distortion circuits under one hood — and lets you decide how much of each you want in your sound.
- Mod knob: Dial toward Alpha for tight, punchy, well-defined grit, or push toward Omega for raw, brutal saturation. Blend anywhere between the two.
- Drive & Level: Control gain going in and volume coming out of the dirt circuit independently.
- Blend: Keeps your clean signal at unity while you dial the overdrive underneath it to taste — no volume-jump surprises.
- Bite: A 2.8kHz high-mid boost for cut and definition when the mix gets crowded.
- Growl: Shelving bass boost that fattens the low end and adds extra saturation down there.
- 3-band active EQ: Bass ±12dB @ 80Hz, Mid ±12dB @ 500Hz, Treble ±12dB @ 5kHz — enough range to reshape the tone entirely.
- Parallel Output: A hardwired clean copy of your input, handy for recording or splitting to a clean rig live.
- Direct Output: Balanced version of the 1/4″ out for running straight to a PA or mixing console.
Compact at 12×10.7cm (4.72×4.21in), it’s built for the board and the stage. Note: draws 30mA and requires a regulated 9V DC center-negative adapter — no battery option, and unregulated or higher-voltage supplies can cause noise issues or damage the unit.
