Some basses are built for polite recording sessions. This one’s built for the era when funk got dirty and punk was just figuring out how loud it could get. The Squier Vintage Modified Jazz Bass ’77 channels that mid-70s offset J-bass energy into an instrument you can actually afford to gig hard.
The Amber finish sits over a soft maple body, paired with a slim C-shaped maple neck that keeps things fast under the hand without sacrificing that chunky vintage feel. The maple fingerboard is bound in white, dressed with 20 medium jumbo frets and classic pearloid block inlays, so it looks the part while staying comfortable through long sets. Nut width sits at 1.5″ over a 34″ scale, with a synthetic bone nut up top.
Twin Fender-designed single-coil Jazz Bass pickups give you that scooped-but-punchy J-bass voice, controlled by dual volumes and a master tone so you can dial in growl, thump, or somewhere in between on the fly. Chrome hardware includes a 4-saddle standard bridge and open-gear tuners, backed by a 3-ply black pickguard that finishes off the vintage-modified look.
