This is the bass you reach for when one pickup just isn’t enough. The Vintage Modified P Bass PJ pairs Fender’s split single-coil Precision pickup in the middle with a ceramic-loaded Jazz Bass single-coil at the bridge, so you can dial in the classic P thump, add some bridge-pickup snarl, or blend both for a fuller, more three-dimensional voice. Three simple dome knobs — bridge volume, middle volume, master tone — keep the controls fast to use on a dark stage.
Under the hood it’s built like a working bass should be. The maple neck wears a Modern C profile that’s comfortable for long sets, topped with a 9.5″ radius laurel fingerboard and 20 medium jumbo frets for smooth bends and a low, playable feel. A PPS nut, dot inlays, and a vintage-tint gloss neck finish round out the details, while a 4-bolt Squier neck plate keeps things solidly attached.
Hardware is straightforward and road-ready: a 4-saddle vintage-style bridge with single-groove saddles, standard open-gear tuners, and chrome hardware throughout, all set off by a 3-ply black pickguard against the Lake Placid Blue finish.
