Description
Gallien-Krueger built its reputation on giving bassists studio-grade tone without the studio-grade back pain, and the MB212-II is the MicroBass Series proving it once more. This combo runs 500 watts through a pair of 12″ neo drivers plus a horn, so you get the low-end weight of a full stack with the portability of a much smaller cab. At only 41 lbs and roughly 14.5″ x 19″ x 26″, it’s the kind of amp you throw in the trunk without a second thought — then wonder why you ever hauled anything bigger.
Session players and touring bassists have leaned on GK’s MicroBass line for years because it stays articulate at any volume, from a quiet rehearsal to a packed room. Need more air in the room? Pair the MB212-II with a 112MBX extension cabinet and let it fill out even further.
Under the hood you get a digital power amp driving a four-band active EQ, giving you real shaping power whether you’re scooping mids for a slap tone or dialing in a warm, rounded fingerstyle sound. The contour switch offers an instant classic GK voicing, and the XLR direct out means front-of-house gets a clean, reliable signal straight from the amp — no mic required.
Practical touches round it out: a chain out for linking additional cabs, an aux input for practicing along to tracks, and a headphone output for silent late-night woodshedding. Wrapped in durable tolex, this combo is built to survive load-in after load-in.
