Description
The JS2 Spectra Bass is Jackson’s take on a workhorse 4-string that doesn’t box you into one genre. The offset poplar body puts a large upper horn to good use, spreading the instrument’s weight so it hangs balanced on a strap instead of diving toward the floor during long sets.
Under your fretting hand is a bolt-on maple neck with a scarf joint for extra sustain and stability, paired with a 12″ radius laurel fingerboard and 24 frets. The speed neck carve keeps things fast whether you’re locking into a groove or running up to the top frets for a fill.
Tonally, the JS2 covers a lot of ground. A Jackson J-style pickup at the bridge brings the growl and bite, while the P-style neck pickup fills in that fat, thumpy low end — blend them to taste. The active bass boost circuit lets you dial in extra low-end weight when a song calls for it, and the push/pull volume knob is a smart touch: pull it to bypass the active circuit entirely, so a dead 9-volt never leaves you silent mid-gig. The hardtail bridge adds sustain and a firmer low-end anchor to the whole package.
Finished in Satin Black Burst with blacked-out hardware, the JS2’s 2×2 headstock and understated J logo keep the look clean and road-ready.
