Description
The Spectra Bass JS2P is built for players who need one instrument to cover a lot of ground – funk pockets, gospel fills, hard rock grind. Jackson’s J-style bridge pickup and P-style neck pickup give you access to both ends of the tonal spectrum, from a fat, woody thump to a growly, cutting snarl, and the hardtail bridge locks everything down for solid sustain and a firmer low-end backbone.
Offset body design isn’t just for looks here. The poplar body with a poplar burl top and extended upper horn spreads the weight out so the neck doesn’t dive on you mid-set, and that matters after the second hour of a gig. The bolt-on maple neck uses a scarf joint for stability, paired with a fast speed neck contour, a 12" radius laurel fingerboard and 24 jumbo frets – plenty of room to run lines all the way up the neck without hunting for space.
On the electronics side, you get volume, blend and bass boost controls, with a push/pull selector on the volume knob that flips between the active bass boost circuit and a passive bypass. That means a dead battery mid-gig doesn’t have to be a dead bass – pull the knob and keep playing on passive power.
This Blue Burst finish pairs with black hardware and Jackson’s distinctive 2×2 headstock carrying a subtle J logo, giving the JS2P a look that’s as sharp as its price point is friendly.
