Description
This is the pairing Bartolini built for players who want P-style thump without giving up Jazz bridge snap. The 8S neck pickup does the heavy lifting down low — vintage-voiced, with extra low-mid weight that keeps your line felt as much as heard. At the bridge, the 9JL1 is a split-coil, hum-cancelling Jazz pickup wound hotter for more growl than a typical vintage bridge unit, closely related to Bartolini’s older 94J but with a touch more top-end bite. Run together, the two balance each other out better than a standard P/J combo, giving you a fuller, more usable blend across the whole neck.
Because this set comes with the HR-3.4/918 prewired harness, you skip the soldering marathon. It’s built around Bartolini’s own 3-band preamp and quality pots, laid out as one Volume hole (Neck/Bridge stacked) and two Tone holes (Treble/Bass stacked, plus a Mid control with a 2-frequency push-pull). Everything’s ready to mount and wire in.
- EQ: 3-band Bartolini preamp
- Volume: Neck Volume/Bridge Volume stack (1 hole)
- Tone: Treble/Bass stack, plus Mid with 2-freq push-pull (2 holes)
- Includes: 2nd battery clip (for 18V option), wiring instructions, black ring & center knobs for tone stack
