Description
This is the PJ combo for players who want their Precision/Jazz-style bass to hit harder without losing definition. The Seymour Duncan SPB-2 is a hot single-coil P-style pickup built for bassists chasing more output and a fuller, punchier low end — the kind of thump that cuts through a band mix instead of getting buried in it. It’s a natural fit for rock, pop, blues, and anything that needs some extra muscle behind the P-bass growl. Comes with black logo covers, a wiring diagram, and mounting screws, so you’re not left guessing at install time.
Paired with it is the SJB-2B, a bridge pickup that takes the classic Vintage Jazz voicing and winds it hotter. Expect a heavier midrange push compared to a standard Vintage-style Jazz pickup — great for rock tones that need to sit forward in the mix, and a nice contrast against the P-pickup’s low-end weight. Includes a logo cover.
Together, this SPB-2/SJB-2B pairing gives you the classic PJ split: solid low-end foundation from the P side, cutting midrange snap from the J side. Want even more shaping control? These pickups play well with Seymour Duncan’s STC-2 or STC-3 tone circuits if you want to dial things in further down the road.
