Description
Five strings, zero excuses. The American Elite Jazz Bass V is built for bassists who need to cover more range on stage without giving up an ounce of the growl and snap that made the Jazz Bass a low-end staple. This one wears an ash body with a natural finish and a maple neck/fingerboard combo, so you get bright, articulate wood tone right out of the gate.
Fender’s 4th-generation Noiseless pickups do the heavy lifting here – they’re voiced to feel vintage but run dead silent, which matters a lot once you’re standing next to a wall of guitar amps. Behind them sits a reworked 18-volt active preamp with a 3-band EQ, giving you real headroom for slap, fingerstyle, or pick attack without the signal falling apart at gig volume. Flip the active/passive mini toggle and you’ve got a backup plan if electronics ever act up mid-set.
Neck feel is where this bass really separates itself: a compound profile that starts as a modern
