This is a direct-fit replacement for Music Man Bass models, using the same wide 1-inch bobbin spacing and generous coil surface area that gives these pickups their signature girth and punch.
EMG built the MM-CS around their CS (Ceramic and Steel) recipe, blending ceramic magnets with steel to balance the tone. The ceramic keeps the top end open and articulate without getting harsh, while the steel bumps up inductance for a low end that’s warm, powerful, and genuinely thunderous when you dig in. It cleans up beautifully for pocket-locked grooves, then thickens right up when you need something rounder for a ballad or a slower groove.
